Picasa 3.0 beta for Linux

I have never been a fan of the F-Spot Photo manager that comes with Ubuntu, I always preferred the way Picasa would organize my photos even creating directories to keep everything grouped together. Picasa for Linux has been around for a while it is basically the Windows version wrapped in a Wine wrapper. It works fine but it is obvious that it is not a native Linux app.

Despite that I still prefer it over all the Linux offerings so far. One should always be on the lookout for new applications when running Linux, applications can evolve rapidly in the open source environment.

As my latest install is the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 9.04 I was pleased to find the Latest Picasa 3.0 can be had in a 64-bit version. Check it out Picasa 3.0 for Linux (beta).
